Kolster is Finland's oldest intellectual property and legal company. Its new visual identity brings out the strength and quality, modernising and energising the character of one of Europe's most experienced IP specialists. The brand represents a bold and reliable pioneer in global IP matters.
At the core of the visual identity are dominant matte black backgrounds, strong typography, thin line patterns and icons and a thoughtfully sparing use of the brand's off-white and golden yellow. The range of patterns reference Kolster's field of work: protection of ideas, strategy work and tech related IP.
Kolster's new official portraits include a square headshot and a half body portrait of over 100 staff members. The photographic style conveys the professional, business casual and approachable nature of Kolster's specialists.
The original Kolster.com homepage (above) was designed in 2016 and launched alongside the new identity. In the spring of 2018 the publishing platform changed and the homepage, news feed and individual article / blog post pages were redesigned to better suit Kolster's updated marketing strategy. Site build is currently under development.
The look and feel of Kolster's offices is modern and open. Opaque window graphics offer privacy while letting in light. The interior design takes from the brand's colour palette and pulls attention to luxurious gold and matte black features in executive meeting rooms, and clean light shades and terracotta in open areas. Kolster's brand patterns elevate the work space on various walls around the office. The interior design was completed in collaboration with Gullstén-Inkinen Design & Architecture.
